    Indiana Sun Bucks Program

The new Indiana SUN Bucks program (Summer EBT) will provide money to eligible households to purchase food during the summer months. Children eligible for free or reduced price meals during the 2023-2024 school year automatically qualify for this program and eligibility must be established annually. Children who were NOT eligible for free or reduced price meals may still qualify for SUN Bucks, but parents/guardians must apply on the website (https://indianasunbucks.com/home).

SUN Bucks will be loaded onto an EBT card and mailed to your home. Families that automatically qualify will receive their card in early June. Those who apply online will receive their card four to six weeks after approval. Each eligible child will receive a lump sum of $120.

Please be sure to update your address and any other contact information in Harmony.

For more information regarding this program, please visit https://www.in.gov/doe/nutrition/indiana-sun-bucks-summer-ebt/?utmcontent=&utmmedium=email&utmname=&utmsource=govdelivery&utmterm=#Resourcesfor_Parents.

    Southwestern Students Earn National Honor

Congratulations to Southwestern High School juniors Kolten Kleopfer, and Alex Lawson, and sophomores Toni Colello, Brady Cook, and Max Joseph. They are now members of a select group of students from across the country to earn academic honors from College Board’s National Recognition Program. They were awarded the National Rural and Small Town Award (NRSTA).

Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify applicants from rural areas through the College Board’s Student Search Service. They earned this recognition by placing in the top 3% in the country on the PSAT Assessment, and maintaining a high GPA in high school.

Also honored with the National First-Generation Recognition Program are Toni Colello, Kolton Klopfer, Haleigh Rohl, and Bryce Weber. This is a new program for 2024 that recognizes outstanding PSAT performance for potential first-generation college students.
